Patients Rights and Responsibilities
We aim to provide our patients with the highest possible standard of medical care and to treat our patients with respect and courtesy.
We expect patients to use our services appropriately, and to keep and, if need be, cancel appointments that have been made. Many hours of doctors’ time are wasted by patients who fail to attend their appointments, and this means that other patients cannot be seen or have to wait longer.
We also expect our patients to treat our staff with courtesy and respect. We have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive behaviour. Patients who are rude, abusive or aggressive will be warned about their behaviour and may be taken off the clinic list.
Computer Records
Computer records are protected by legislation. The Bridge Medical Clinic is registered to hold data about patients for the provision of health care. Such information may only be accessed by staff employed by the clinic or staff acting on our behalf on a specific project. The data may also be accessed by community staff involved in your care such as Home Care Nurses and the Highland Primary Care Network (PCN) staff.
All records are confidential, up to date and accurate. You have the right to ask to see information held about you on the computer, and to ask for any inaccuracies to be corrected but please note there is a charge for this.
Information about you will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent.
