Dr Roberts is a female Family physician, and she has been a physician for around twenty years. She is a portfolio Family practitioner with a special interest in research and women's health.

The bulk of her clinical training was in the United Kingdom, where she completed the training scheme to become a family physician. Her work in the UK combined both clinical practice and research at the Keele University in Staffordshire, UK, where she worked as a GP research Fellow. She is a GP trainer in the United Kingdom.
She worked as the Clinical Director of a Family Physician led clinic in England, a role she maintained for 3 years until she relocated to Canada. In addition to medicine, She has training in management and holds an award in leadership and team skills from the Institute of leadership and Management (ILM), United Kingdom.
